We are welcoming visitors back to the Lake District. We are working with our local partners to put measures in place that will help keep people safe.
Our page lakedistrict.gov.uk/coronavirus has a message from our Chief Executive, how the latest coronavirus rules apply across the National Park, updates on our attractions and services, and how you can contact us.
Windermere, Ambleside and the surrounding areas offer accommodation to suit all tastes and budgets. From beautiful lakeshore views to cosy holiday cottages, there is something for you.
Ambleside, at the north end of the Lake, is a small but busy town with a wide selection of hotels, self-catering properties and bed and breakfast accommodation.
Windermere is just over a mile from the lake shore, whilst Bowness-on-Windermere offers places to stay near the lake, many with views across the water.
Newby bridge is at the very southern tip of the Lake.
We've listed just a few of the hotels and guest houses in the main towns, but there is a wide range of bed and breakfast and self-catering accommodation in all the towns and villages around Windermere. Use the search to find your perfect place to stay.
The commission we receive from your booking will go towards keeping the landscape special for future generations.
If you would like to stay in a hotel or bed and breakfast call into the Bowness Information Centre or call us on 015394 42895.
