Activities, events and walks in the Lake District

There are lots of events and activities happening in the National Park celebrating local culture, wildlife, scenery and much more. From fabulous family days out to high fell hikes. Events take place across the National Park so no matter where you are, you'll find something nearby.

    Discover Wordsworth's Grasmere and learn about one of England's finest Romantic poets. On this walk you'll discover Grasmere’s hidden footpaths and stumble across a spectacular waterfall while learning about William and Dorothy Wordsworth’s lives and writing. You’ll explore the places they wrote about and hear their words aloud while enjoying breathtaking views of the surrounding fells. A partnership walk with Wordsworth Grasmere.     Take the 'Ratty' steam train to Eskdale Green and walk back to the sea over Muncaster Fell. Meet at 10.00 to catch the 10.25 train.

    The Hidden Valley of Watendlath

    Ride the bus to Rosthwaite, then walk over the fell to the hanging valley of Watendlath, returning to Keswick on woodland and lakeshore paths by Derwent Water. Prompt start to catch the bus!
