We are welcoming visitors back to the Lake District. We are working with our local partners to put measures in place that will help keep people safe.
Our page lakedistrict.gov.uk/coronavirus has a message from our Chief Executive, how the latest coronavirus rules apply across the National Park, updates on our attractions and services, and how you can contact us.
It’s not easy staying healthy under the pressures of modern day life, it’s hard to connect with nature or the landscape sitting in traffic jam or working at a computer. We all need to invest time in to our body and soul, building up our physical health and improving our wellbeing.
For those living in, around or visiting the Lake District National Park, there are wonderful opportunities to lift your spirits, and invigorate your body.
Enjoy the wellbeing effects of visiting the Lake District National Park and you will be following in the footsteps of great artists such as William Wordsworth, who understood the value of the landscape for inspiring and restoring the spirit.
There is nothing like exploring the National Park under your own steam. Once you leave the car behind - you can discover new views, experience tranquillity and encounter wildlife. It is these opportunities that reward the most and stay with us long after our Lake District experience.
You will be spoilt for choice with what the Park has to offer whether it be walking, cycling, visiting Coniston Boating Centre, Brockhole Visitor Centre or our exploring the Miles without Stiles routes.
Remember, if the wilder parts of the National Park are not your thing, why not enjoy a low level lakeside walk or you can still clock up your daily steps enjoying the towns, villages and rich history that is on offer.
Sometimes it’s easier to get active when we are in the company of others, whether it is sharing success, gaining confidence or just being with likeminded people.
Check out our guided walks and events and look out for the icon if you are looking for something nice and easy to get you started.
If you want to get hands-on why not check out our volunteering opportunities. There is nothing like the feeling you get when you are giving something back or helping someone else.
But most importantly when you leave, take your experiences home with you; become inspired by the landscape and outdoor opportunities on your own doorstep.
There are lots of events and activities happening in the National Park celebrating local culture, wildlife, scenery and much more. Enjoy the health benefits of being outside.Book online today
