Lake District National Park Authority announces financial plan to secure future

This week, Members of the National Park Authority agreed to open a consultation on proposals to make the financial savings required to secure future services and practical work across the National Park. Like many organisations and businesses, the National Park Authority has been financially impacted by the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, leading to a budget deficit of £1.2m for 2021/22.

Boat Safety Scheme - media statement

At today’s Authority meeting the Lake District National Park decided not to adopt the Boat Safety Scheme (BSS) following the Marine Accident Investigation Board’s (MAIB) recommendation, as the scheme is not an effective comprehensive method of addressing the important issue of boat safety.

Cumbria floods update - 7 December 2015

The weekend’s severe weather has had a significant impact on Cumbria and our thoughts are with all communities affected. We are part of a countywide flood recovery programme and we are currently helping to assess the impact on our communities. We will be working with partner organisations to set about tackling, what is certain to be, a lengthy and sustained recovery to restore our National Park.
