The Committee undertakes the audit activity including the appointment of the Authority’s external auditor; commissioning work from internal and external audit and the consideration of reports from such bodies. In addition, the Committee undertakes the role promoting and maintaining high standards of conduct by the members of the Authority including the adoption of the Member Code of Conduct and the determination of complaints made against Members.
The agenda and papers for the meetings are available to the public five working days prior to the meeting. They can be downloaded from the relevant meeting page or viewed at the Authority's offices in Kendal. The only exceptions are those agenda items which would infringe copyright or would not be dealt with in public for reasons of confidentiality.
We livestream and make a recording of each Committee meeting, apart from those agenda items which would infringe copyright or would not be dealt with in public for reasons of confidentiality.
