It’s important that people who are thinking of visiting this weekend know that the majority of places are still open and accessible throughout the national park. We are asking people to check routes in advance and will be sharing information on temporary rights of way closures on our website.
A new art gallery is opening its doors this weekend at Brockhole, the Lake District Visitor Centre, and will become a permanent visitor attraction for Windermere.

The temporary foot bridge at Buttermere is to be removed and a diversion has been put in place so that the circular route round Buttermere can still be accessed. Repairs to the original Dubbs bridge will begin next summer.
