Developing a Design Code for the Lake District

The National Park Authority is asking local people, visitors and industry experts to help develop a design code for the Lake District in a consultation that starts today and will run until 15 May.

Digging deep to celebrate 10 years of the Lake District Archaeology Volunteer Network

A celebratory event was held recently to thank the dedicated team of volunteers who help look after the historic environment of the Lake District National Park through archaeological survey, research and conservation. The English Lake District UNESCO World Heritage Site is an area of national and international historical and cultural significance, and this team of volunteers has played a significant role in extending the knowledge of the Lake District’s archaeology and history.
