Beech Hill car park is situated on the A592, midway between Bowness and Newby Bridge on the east side of Windermere. Beech Hill Hotel is next door.
Ladies, gents and disabled toilets. Baby-changing facilities. Access to lakeshore down some steep steps. Picnic area.
You can walk to the lake shore below the car park. However please be aware this path has steep steps and is not accessible for the less mobile.
There is no coach parking at this car park.

Waterhead car park is at the northern end of Windermere lake, close to the steamer pier. It is a mile from the centre of Ambleside. There are several hotels and cafes within the immediate area.
This is an ideal place to park if you wish to take a cruise on Windermere.
Walks from this location include Loughrigg, Jenkin Crag and Wansfell.

This small car park forms a viewpoint overlooking Windermere. It is on the A592 between Bowness and the junction with the A591.
There's usually an icecream van here, but there are no toilet facilities.
There is no parking for coaches.
