Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Our page lakedistrict.gov.uk/coronavirus has updates on our attractions and services affected by Coronavirus and how you can contact us.

Stay at home. Protect the NHS. Save lives.

It is important that we follow government advice and stay at home. The Lake District National Park Authority car parks are now closed. They will remain only for use by our local communities, in populated areas for essential functions – such as attending GP appointments or for essential shopping.

Motorhome parking

Where can I park my motorhome?

You can park them in our car parks. However if it takes up more than one vehicle space, you must pay for the additional space or spaces.

Are there height restrictions on LDNPA car parks?

There are no height restrictions on any of our car parks.

Overnight stays

You can leave a vehicle in one of our car parks overnight. However you cannot stay in the vehicle. This is supported by our byelaws.

There are some great sites around the National Park for overnight stays - check out camping and caravanning.

Where does the money go?

All car park charges go towards keeping the National Park special for the future.
