The two main villages on Ullswater lake are Glenridding and Pooley Bridge. Both have a small number of shops which sell goods varying from food and drink to outdoor clothing. The Ullswater Information Centre at Glenridding also sells shop quality gifts.
The Rheged Centre (opens in new window), north of Ullswater, has a selection of shops.
Shops in this town include John Norris for fishing equipment and outdoor clothing, and The Toffee Shop which counts the Prince of Wales as a customer! There are also several supermarkets.
