We are welcoming visitors back to the Lake District. We are working with our local partners to put measures in place that will help keep people safe.
Our page lakedistrict.gov.uk/coronavirus has a message from our Chief Executive, how the latest coronavirus rules apply across the National Park, updates on our attractions and services, and how you can contact us.
Wasdale is 'Britain's Favourite View', the birthplace of British mountaineering, an iconic farmed landscape and a popular gateway to England's highest mountain Scafell Pike, part of the Three Peaks Challenge.
If you're planning on coming, here's how to keep it special.
New public toilets are planned for Wasdale Head, but the current facilities are temporary and very basic. Please use motorway services or public toilets before you reach the valley.
There are plans to improve parking in the next few years. Please follow signs and park as instructed.
If you're arriving in the early hours to walk up Scafell Pike, please keep noise to a minimum.
Respect people living and staying in the valley and maintain your 'silence' until you are some way up the climb out of the valley.
Please take it home with you. And if you want to really help, pick up any odd bits you see on the way. Even banana skins and apple cores take a long time to biodegrade on a mountain.
Make sure you have at least one person in your group who can navigate in difficult conditions.
Take the right footwear, clothes and equipment, and bring enough food and drink.
Route information and top tips are available at Fix the Fells - Three Peaks

You are one of 250,000 annual visitors to Wasdale. We are raising money to provide excellent facilities for you, such as toilets, car parking, and well maintained footpaths.
You can really help by putting money in the donation box, or for footpath repairs donate at Fix the Fells.
Next time, stay a while, explore, enjoy the local hospitality, and get to know the place and the people. Check out Explore Wastwater and West coast.
We have our own programme of guided walks and other events too.
You can print off these guidelines in a handy Wasdale Welcome leaflet (PDF)
