We are welcoming visitors back to the Lake District. We are working with our local partners to put measures in place that will help keep people safe.
Our page lakedistrict.gov.uk/coronavirus has a message from our Chief Executive, how the latest coronavirus rules apply across the National Park, updates on our attractions and services, and how you can contact us.
Discover this new trail from Ambleside via Rydal Water to Grasmere with trained leaders. Just right for active families and leisure cyclists who wish to explore by bike. We follow a little-known quiet route out of Ambleside and head for the shores of Rydal and Grasmere. Our effort is rewarded in Grasmere with lots of cafes for refreshment – or perhaps a piece of Grasmere gingerbread. For the return, we retrace the route – but the views look very different this way.
