A significant amount of evidence sits behind the Local Plan and has helped to shape the development of the policies and site allocations. It ensures our suggested policies are based on the needs and wants of the Lake District National Park. In many cases we have tested our reports with experts and have invited peer reviews.
As a local planning authority we have effective on-going working arrangements with our neighbouring strategic policy-making authorities and have produced statements of common ground with each of them as required by the National Planning Policy Framework. Draft Supplementary Planning Documents have been produced to support the consultation of the Pre-Submission Local Plan. Their purpose is to give the reader a flavour of how we anticipate specific policies in the Local Plan will be implemented.
