User Generated Content Terms and Conditions

In these user generated content terms and conditions ("these T&Cs"), "Lake District National Park Authority", "we", "us" and "our" means the Lake District National Park Authority and "you" means the person providing user generated content.

If you post any content including photographs, video, text, social media identifier, information, images, graphics or other media to social media (“User Generated Content”) along with our social handles and sends, or use hashtags associated with us, we may post a comment to your original social media post asking you if you accept these T&Cs.

By replying to our comment with the hashtag "#YesLakeDistrict" you accept these T&Cs. You also accept these T&Cs by uploading content to our website or mobile application.

You grant to us a perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to exercise all intellectual property rights in your User Generated Content for our marketing, advertising, or promotional purposes, including via our websites, social media channels, email, paid social media and other customer communications. You agree that we may edit, alter, or combine your User Generated Content with other material.

You warrant and represent to us that:

  • you are at least 18 years of age, or you are the parent or guardian with legal responsibility of any individual under the age of 18 that is featured in the content;
  • you have sought permission from any third parties appearing in the content to their image, likeness or personal data being processed by us for the purposes set out in these terms and conditions;
  • you are authorised to grant the rights set out in these T&Cs, including the intellectual property licence set out above; and
  • our use of your User Generated Content will not violate the rights of any third party or any law.

You hereby:

  • release and discharge us from any obligation to pay you for our use of your User Generated Content in accordance with these T&Cs; and
  • release, discharge and agree to hold us and any person acting on our behalf harmless from all claims, demands, and liabilities whatsoever in connection with our use of the User Generated Content in accordance with these T&Cs.

We are under no obligation to use any of the content, and we may delete, edit, or remove the content at any time.

If you wish to make a complaint about User Generated Content, for example that it is objectionable, in breach of your copyright or you would otherwise like it removed, or have any questions about these T&Cs or the use of User generated Content, please contact comms@lakedistrict.gov.uk

You acknowledge that, while we have control over our own posts, where User Generated Content is posted on third party sites, we may not be able to require the third party to remove the User Generated Content. In such cases, you will need to contact the third party directly.
