Active member of British Mountaineering Council (BMC) and on on Committee of Lake Area BMC. Member of Fell Runners Association and Mountain Training Association. 20 years as a volunteer with Lake District Mountain Rescue (now retired).

Outside of mountaineering, watching Rugby Union.
