What was your first car?
A GPO van that had died and I got it for about £50 and did it up. It didn’t have a heater so it was a bit chilly.
What was your first music record?
I’ve never had any. I was brought up in a house that didn’t have electricity until I was about 15.
What’s your favourite Lake District view?
If I walk out a little way from my house in Ennerdale I can see Pillar Mountain and the lake and all of that.
What’s your favourite walk in the Lakes?
I’ve climbed a lot in Borrowdale on Shepherds Crag.
What’s your favourite season in the lakes?
Oh, I love the spring, because we have such a lovely garden. After the snowdrops come the daffodils and the red squirrels.
If you were an animal what would you be?
Hmmm, I think I’d be a rhinoceros. Because I have a very sharp temper *laughs*.
Any other interests/ committees?
I’m a trustee at Whitehaven Harbour youth project as I’m an ex youth worker. I’m a local borough council for Cleator Moor, god’s little acre.
What’s your favourite sport?
So many. I’ve done such a lot. I’ve played rugby and had a humiliating trial for Coventry at football. I love canoeing, caving, climbing and skiing too.
