Background, particular interests and hobbies:

Judith was born in Sunderland, County Durham in 1959 and has lived in Cumbria since 1974, moving to Eskdale when her father became vicar there, attending Keswick Grammar School for 2 years.

Judith has worked with the National Trust on woodland management for 14 years, and then a Property Manager in the Ullswater Valley and at Acorn Bank for 7 years.  Since leaving the National Trust, she has worked with the Countyside Agency, Carlisle City Council and Rural Development Service gaining experience on wider rural issues.  Judith continued her career with Cumbria Rural Housing Trust, working with rural communities on the lack of good affordable homes and resulting implications for communities and businesses in rural Cumbria, and then the Housing Justice on the Faith in Affordable Housing Project.  Judith now works part-time for Go Outdoors in Penrith.

Judith's interests are gardening, walking, pottering around Scotland, and learning new things via Twitter, Facebook and internet.
