Excitement as Eskdale Trail is improved

The Lake District National Park Authority has completed works to improve the 8.5-mile Eskdale Trail, which runs from Dalegarth to Ravenglass thanks to an overall package of around £2 million of funding.

New Chair for Lake District National Park Partnership

Dr Celia Caulcott has been appointed as the new Chair to lead the Lake District National Park Partnership. The Partnership is currently made up of 20 organisations from the public, private and charity sectors who work together to deliver the positive management of the Lake District National Park and World Heritage Site.

Put a spring in your step with a free volunteer-led guided walk

The ever-popular Lake District National Park Authority free volunteer-led guided walks have launched for 2023, just in time for the spring holidays. There is a wide variety of easy to medium level walks available, all in small groups of up to 20 people, and led by welcoming and cheery volunteers.

Lake District car park to be removed to protect special landscape

The Lake District National Park Authority works hard to ensure planning rules are followed and the special qualities of its spectacular landscape are safeguarded. As part of this work, it has been ruled that a car park at Low Grassings near Coniston must be removed.
