Brockhole sits in one of the most beautiful locations in the country, and has its own thriving, varied and fast growing catering and hospitality business

Situated between Ambleside and Windermere, Brockhole is currently visited by over 300,000 people per year, and is the main Lake District Visitor Centre on the shores of Lake Windermere. Our site includes Brockhole House, a great Arts and Crafts house which is set in 30 acres of stunning listed gardens. The house and site are home to multiple cafés, an award nominated restaurant, a shop, art gallery, meeting rooms and a thriving adventure activity and boating hire centre.

We have multiple café outlets at Brockhole – including the main Brockhole Café, the seasonal Garden Shed and Lakeshore Cafés, the BBQ and vintage Fish and Chip van, plus new offers we develop every year.

This role, focussing on the café offer, presents a great opportunity to demonstrate and develop your skills and experience in the catering and hospitality industry, whilst earning good money in beautiful surroundings.

You will be supervising the staff team, ensuring all cafés are managed efficiently and effectively, opening/closing, and ordering stock.

The role

You will be responsible for the day to day supervision of all (in the absence of the Cafés Managers), or part, of the food and beverage operation at Brockhole, including the running of all, or some, of our café outlets.

You will be supervising customer service, delivery and team members, and to actively participate in the running of the café in relation to all front of house and back of house activities – serving customers, taking orders, running food, clearing tables etc. You will also be cashing up and completing end of day reports.

You will help maximise returns and profits from all of our food and beverage outlets whilst maintaining excellent customer service and providing good value to the customer at all times.

About you

You will have worked in a similar role elsewhere or be looking to make a move up from an experienced team leader or café assistant.
