Brockhole on Windermere are seeking an enthusiastic, energetic and experienced person for the role of Catering Assistant for our catering department, including Brockhole Cafés and The Gaddum Restaurant.
You will be helping to deliver the varied food and beverage offer on this very busy and beautiful site, supervising and being a hands-on member of the team.
Brockhole on Windermere has started on a long term transformational programme of developments, particularly in its café and restaurant, having already opened the much acclaimed Gaddum Restaurant (2018) and the hugely popular Garden Shed Café & BBQ (2019), we are now working towards the next phase of developments.
The site includes the beautiful Gibson designed Brockhole House, a great Arts and Crafts house set in 30 acres of stunning Thomas Mawson designed, listed gardens, on the shores of Lake Windermere. With the Lake District now a designated World Heritage Site, this is a great opportunity to make a significant contribution to the main visitor centre for the Lake District, currently visited by over 300,000 people per year.
We have an existing busy main family café, and two great seasonal catering cabins in the grounds, plus in 2018 we opened. The Gaddum - a fully refurbished Arts & Crafts restaurant, which offers high quality afternoon teas, light lunches and evening meals from May to September (with the possibility of a winter evening offer). The Gaddum has opened to rave reviews and customer feedback and is a stunning addition to our offer.
This role presents a great opportunity to demonstrate and develop your skills and experience in the catering and hospitality industry, whilst earning good money in beautiful surroundings.
