Learning and Engagement Activity Leader

£18,893 - £20,338

We are looking for an enthusiastic, and ideally experienced, Learning and Engagement Activity Leader to deliver an exceptional learning programme at Brockhole and with West Cumbrian Primary Schools.

This is very much hands-on role, both behind the scenes and working directly with our customers. Reporting to the Learning Co-ordinator, the post holder will be helping with the Learning Service administration work as well as developing and delivering activities for school groups during term time (both on and off site) and for family visitors during the holiday periods/weekends.

Learning and engagement is a key part of our purpose at Brockhole, and this post is hugely important to help expand and enhance that offer. The activities will relate to the Lake District - its cultural heritage and environment, and will be both outdoors and indoors. We are looking for a team member with experience and skills in both of those learning environments.

The Brockhole site includes the beautiful Arts and Crafts Brockhole House, designed by Gibson. It is set in 30 acres of stunning Thomas Mawson designed listed gardens on the shores of Lake Windermere.  With the Lake District now a designated World Heritage Site, this is a great opportunity to make a significant contribution to the main visitor centre for the Lake District, currently visited by over 300,000 people per year. This includes the opportunity to explore the development of adult learning activities and a World Heritage Exhibition.

If you would like to make a major contribution to this fantastic location, have the right knowledge and experience matched with a friendly, outgoing and engaging personality, plus the ability to deliver exceptional learning and engagement activities, we would love to hear from you.

Your working week will be on average 37 hours per week, working 5 days over 7 including weekend and holiday working. You need to have a full, clean driving licence.

For an informal discussion and to find out more about the role, please contact Ruth Suddaby on telephone number 015394 40804

We are committed to equality of opportunity and welcome applicants from all sectors of society. If you are an applicant with disabilities who meets the essential requirements of the job, we will interview you.
