Occasional showers, some thundery downpours possible, sunny spells developing. Best sunshine towards the coast.

Persistent extensive hill fog: Low risk - (below 600m) Mainly confined to higher levels but some lower patches in the morning.
Thunderstorms: Medium risk - Some showers could well be accompanied by thunder.
Heavy persistent rain: Low risk - Showers will in general not last long but could be torrential for a time.
Strong sunlight: Low risk - Some sunny spells mainly in the afternoon.

Weather:

It will be a fairly bright but showery day, the showers locally very heavy with the chance of thunder. Some sunny intervals too especially later in the day and the best of this will be towards the west coast.

Visibility:

Mostly good or very good but falling poor in heavier showers, with some hill fog above due to cloud.

Hill Fog:

Occasional above 600m and persistent above 900m in prolonged showers, with some patches to 400m. Smaller amounts later in the day.

Maximum winds above 500m:

Westerly 25 gusts 35mph

Temperature:

Valleys/Low level: Plus 12 Celsius rising to Plus 18
Celsius, dipping in heavier showers.
At 900m: Plus 10 Celsius.
Freezing level: Above the summits.

Dawn - 0900: Light rain showers. 80% chance of rain
0900 - 1200: Heavy rain showers. 70% chance of rain
1200 - 1500: Thundery showers. 70% chance of hail
1500 - Dusk: Light rain showers. 50% chance of rain

Weather:

A dry bright day with some sunshine at times, perhaps the odd shower.

Visibility:

Very good generally with distant hills easily seen.

Hill Fog:

Patchy above 750m rising to 1000m though lower patches in showers.

Maximum winds above 500m:

West to northwest 25mph.

Temperature:

Valleys/Low level: Plus 9 Celsius rising to Plus 17
Celsius.
At 900m: Plus 8 Celsius.
Freezing level: Above the summits.

Monday


Cloudy with prolonged and often heavy rain, accompanied by extensive hill fog. Gales at many levels and widespread severe gales on the higher hills and summits.

Tuesday


A dull wet start with extensive hill fog and heavy rain. Becoming brighter from the north with some sunny intervals but frequent blustery showers will blow in on severe westerly gales.

Wednesday


A bright day with some sunshine and a few passing showers. Strong to gale northwesterly winds gradually moderating. Cooler.
