- Lakes Aquarium (opens in new window) at Lakeside, Newby Bridge
Go on a journey of discovery! Set on the lakeshore, this award winning attraction has the UK's largest collection of freshwater fish.
- Blackwell (opens in new window) - the Arts and Craft House near Bowness-on-Windermere
Overlooking the lake, Blackwell has fine examples of decorative arts, furniture and objects inspired by nature, with superb examples of stained glass, carved oak and iron work.
- Fell Foot Park (opens in new window) near Newby Bridge
This Victorian park, restored to its former glory, offers substantial access to the lakeshore, where there are leisure facilities. Fine picnic areas and rowing boat hire make it an ideal day out for families.
- Graythwaite Hall Gardens
Laid out in the late nineteenth century, the Arts and Crafts garden is a delight in spring, when the rhododendrons, azaleas and flowering shrubs are in glorious bloom.
- Holehird Gardens Patterdale Road, Troutbeck
Ten acres of a huge variety of alpines, heathers, specimen trees and shrubs maintained by the Lakeland Horticultural Society.
- Lakeland Limited (opens in new window) next to Windermere railway station
The headquarters for the 'Original Creative Kitchenware Store', the modern flagship store in Windermere is a great retail experience.
- Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway (opens in new window) from Lakeside
Three and a half miles section. Hard working steam locomotives travel the length of the Leven Valley. Take a return journey or combine your trip with a lake cruise or a visit to the Aquarium of the Lakes.

The Old Laundry Theatre is the only profession in-the-round theatre in Cumbria with an exciting and stimulating programme of performing arts.
- Stott Park Bobbin Mill
A fully working Victorian mill, Stott Park is typical of the many mills which once supplied the spinning and weaving industry.
