Let toddlers run around and explore safely in woods, lawns, shoreline and beautiful gardens at Brockhole - The Lake District Visitor Centre (opens in new window). Whether you're here for an hour or a day, there’s lots to keep little ones entertained.
Entry to the house, grounds and lakeshore is free. Car parking charges apply.
Intrepid toddlers and older children can captain our miniature lake steamer, fly high on swings or have fun with the wacky noise tunnel.
There's a special separate area for under sevens and picnic tables nearby.
Next to the exhibitions in the main house, there's a free soft play area. Little ones will love playing with the Lake District themed ducks, fish and can even make a wall! There's tables and chairs for colouring-in fun too.
For just 50p you can pick up a Little Legs Trail leaflet from the shop. The trail hunts for wooden clues in the Brockhole gardens, woodlands and lakeshore finishing at the adventure playground. The leaflet also gives children a chance to enjoy some colouring in.
Brockhole is easily reached by bus or even boat!
