The Reflections on History project explored the industrial archaeology of the Windermere catchment, looking at how humans have shaped the landscape around them.
We investigated woodland industries, fulling mills, a quarry, mining remains and iron production sites through four community archaeology surveys.
These MP3 trails take you to some of the fascinating sites we examined. Each page includes an audio trail to download, plus supporting route instructions and a map:
Reflections on History is one of 19 projects undertaken by Windermere Reflections, a Heritage Lottery Fund supported Landscape Partnership Scheme.
