Rights of Way and Access updates
Sometimes there are changes to the public rights of way network, permitted paths and other access issues.
Temporary Closure Orders
These are usually to allow works to take place, for example, helicopter stonelifts for Fix the Fells work or replacement of large bridges. They may also be made for reasons of public safety, for example motor rallies, forestry, utility works or building works that affect public paths.
For the latest orders, please read our Temporary Closures page.
Public Path Orders and Modification Orders
These are permanent changes to the public rights of way network. You may like to note these down on your Ordnance Survey maps, until they appear on the next edition.
For orders confirmed in the last six months, please look at Public Path Orders and Modification Orders page.
