Why do we support it?

We aim to promote cycling throughout the Lake District as it is a healthy sporting activity that is easy accessible to many people of all ages. It can be done individually or as part of a group.

Have a go any time!

We have teamed up with Cumbria Tourism and Lakes Road Club to set up a timed self-led challenge ride of the Four Seasons Fred Whitton Bike Ride (opens in new window). It follows the same route as the annual route but can be completed 365 days a year at your own pace.

It's a fantastic opportunity for individuals, groups and clubs to complete one of the most challenging cycling routes in the country, over one or more days, and to get an official finish time on the Fred Whitton website.
