Monitoring planning policy

The Annual Monitoring Report is part of the Local Plan. It states:

  • the progress we have made each year in creating or updating the Local Plan
  • how we are actually delivering the policies

The Annual Monitoring Report provides us with the opportunity to critically evaluate the effectiveness of our planning policies and monitor whether a policy is working or not. For example, if a policy is about developing land for employment in the National Park, the report will state how much land has been developed for employment over a period of time.

Annual Monitoring Reports

Five year housing land supply

Each year we are required to identify and update enough specific deliverable sites to provide five years' worth of housing. This is found in the most recent Annual Monitoring Report or Housing Land Annual Position Statement.
