Local Development Framework

The Local Development Framework promotes a proactive and positive approach to managing land use development in the Lake District National Park.

What's in the LDF?

Lake District National Park Local Development Scheme 2012 -14 (PDF) - Sets out the proposed timetable for the LDF
Annual Monitoring Report - read more on this web page. Explains how we will monitor the effectiveness of policies.

Core strategy - contains the strategic policies for the Lake District National Park until 2025.
Core strategy proposals map - is made up of individual maps for each rural service centre. Each map shows information such as settlements and flood risk zones.
Supplementary planning documents - read more on this web page. They provide further guidance on the implementation of Core Strategy policies. Adopted SPDs include Wind Energy, Housing Provision and Ambleside Campus.
Allocations of Land Development - read more on this web page. The Allocations of Land Development Plan Document is work in progress. It identifies land for housing, employment, open space and other uses
