Local Development Framework
The Local Development Framework promotes a proactive and positive approach to managing land use development in the Lake District National Park.
What's in the LDF?
There are two types of document in the Local Development Framework. Read the completed documents by clicking the hyperlink:
Type 1: Process documents
explaining what, how, when and why?
- Statement of Community Involvement (PDF) - explains how individuals, communities and organisations can get involved in the LDF process
- Lake District National Park Local Development Scheme 2012 -14 (PDF) - Sets out the proposed timetable for the LDF
- Annual Monitoring Report - read more on this web page. Explains how we will monitor the effectiveness of policies.
Type 2: Development documents
covers policies, plans, maps and guidance.
- Core strategy - contains the strategic policies for the Lake District National Park until 2025.
- Core strategy proposals map - is made up of individual maps for each rural service centre. Each map shows information such as settlements and flood risk zones.
- Supplementary planning documents - read more on this web page. They provide further guidance on the implementation of Core Strategy policies. Adopted SPDs include Wind Energy, Housing Provision and Ambleside Campus.
- Allocations of Land Development - read more on this web page. The Allocations of Land Development Plan Document is work in progress. It identifies land for housing, employment, open space and other uses
