Bowness Bay and The Glebe site allocation proposals

Our Core Strategy identifies Bowness Bay and The Glebe as a strategic regeneration location that will deliver a world-class visitor experience in the National Park.

Public consultation on our preferred allocation for Bowness Bay and The Glebe took place 26 September - 30 November 2011. Thank you to everyone who responded. We are now reviewing the issues raised during the consultation. We will publish final draft proposals in autumn 2012, before its submission to government for formal examination.

‘Issues and Options’ consultation

The Framework Masterplan for Bowness Bay and The Glebe shows there could be several different developments within the overall regeneration of Bowness Bay and The Glebe. We want to work with partners to deliver the developments as a comprehensive, coordinated project. It is likely that the work will be done in stages. We expect some developments to happen before others. But we want to identify the wider location for the project, so that we can make sure the public realm improvements help to enhance any commercial developments. And the other way round too!
