Design Programme

Intelligent design

We want:

"We don’t want design guidelines for the Lake District National Park. We want freedom of thinking. We want design intelligence."

Steve Ratcliffe, Director of Planning and Partnerships at the Lake District National Park Authority

How?

The Design Programme, funded by ourselves and Northwest Development Agency, will help us get to this position. It brings together our staff, members, specialists from other organisations, architects and consultants. Each event in the programme will create opportunities to learn new things, debate and discuss. There will be seminars, site visits in the National Park and across the country. To avoid duplication with other things going on we link to other activities taking place in the region or nationally with a design theme.
