Windermere: boat registration

Any boat which has an engine - including an outboard motor - must be registered for use on Windermere. You can do this by downloading the online forms below, or in person at the SLDC Lake Wardens office at Ferry Nab on Windermere.

Registration Scheme form

Please print out the Windermere Boat Annual Registration Scheme Form (opens Document Library) and follow the instructions on the form.

Tip: We need two types of Proof of Identity for all new registrations or if you're renewing and don't bring the original renewal form.

2010 Fees - same as last two years

£5 per year for renewals

£10 per year for new registrations

£5 for set of registration numbers. Postage costs are £2

I have a Small Ships Register number - what should I do?

If you are registered with the Small Ships Register please display that number at the same size as the Windermere scheme numbers. If you have any questions please call 01539 724555 and ask for Pauline Richardson.
