Opening times
- Gardens and grounds open all year from dawn to dusk.
- Limited access to adventure playground 13 - 22 March for installation of new equipment.
- House and shop open daily: 10am - 4.30pm
- Cafe open daily: 10am - 4.15pm
From 27 March - 1 November house, shop and cafe are open until 5pm daily.
Swing, slide and scramble!
Our adventure playground is packed with rope walks, slides, swings, scramble nets and zip wires. Conquer the wooden fort or mess about on the shipwrecked boat! You can leave the grown-ups at the picnic tables whilst you're having fun. Follow the signs from the car park, keeping left.

- Race through the gardens down to the lakeshore - there's 30 acres to enjoy, including Birkett wood near the jetty and meadows.
- There's also picnic areas, including a covered area.
- Discover our "Landscape Literature" works of art combining inspirational words and quirky sculpture by poets, artists and local schoolchildren.
