Organising recreational events

We have our own Events programme of guided walks and other events. However other organised recreational events such as the Three Peaks Challenge have become increasingly popular throughout the National Park to raise funds for charity or as a personal challenge.

Well-managed events reduce the risk of environmental impact or disruption to communities. So if you are planning an event, please contact us for advice and specialist local knowledge and use the ‘Checklist for organisers’.

All charity events, including the Three Peaks Challenge, should observe the Institute of Fundraising’s code of practice for ‘Outdoor Fundraising Events in the UK’ (opens in new window).

Three Peaks Challenge - contacting rangers

If you're planning to climb Scafell Pike as part of the Three Peaks Challenge, please contact the relevant Ranger depending on your start point:

to discuss your event and any matters of particular local concern.

Please park carefully and use the loos!

We would be very grateful if Three Peak Challenge participants could park legally in Wasdale Head and use the new temporary toilets. This will help avoid gridlock and sanitation problems for the local community. Thanks!
