What is National Parks week?

This celebration of the UK’s 14 National Parks is to remind people that these wonderful stretches of countryside exist to protect beautiful areas for the benefit of the nation. They contain the finest landscapes in the UK and are an important part of the nation's heritage, available for everyone to enjoy free of charge and safeguarded for future generations.

National Parks are also vital to rural economies and attract approximately 150 million visitors a year. Read more about what's happening in the rest of the country during National Parks Week (opens in new window).
