Great North Swim

This event allows thousands of swimmers of all abilities to train and experience open water swimming in England’s largest lake. It's a one-mile outdoor swim in beautiful Windermere for swimmers of all abilities.

When is it?

Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 September, 2010.

Where is it?

It takes place in front of the Low Wood Hotel and Marina on Windermere.

Why do we support it?

In 2008 and 2009, we were proud to be sponsors of this major event. Building on the amazing success of open water swimmers in the Beijing Olympics, we worked with the organisers of the Great North Run to create the biggest mass swimming event seen in the UK.

We support this event because it promotes healthy and safe access to water through a major sporting event accessible for all. Our Lake Wardens coordinate safety at the event and last year, our staff team raised over £1000 for charity swimming the one mile course.
