Tutored modules
These allow you to gain the added value that out-of-classroom learning brings.

Our modules support the delivery of key objectives in the National Curriculum, QCA Scheme of Work and exam board specifications.

Our tutors
All our tutors are experienced teaching staff with specialist knowledge and fieldwork expertise. They all have a superlative understanding of the Lake District environment and hold first aid certificates. Risk assessment and group management is also a priority.
What we need from you
Accompanying staff must remain with their groups at all times during your visit. You are responsible for the conduct and behaviour of your students. Group leaders must make sure enough adults accompany each child to meet their LEA guidelines or other Codes of Practice.
Resources
Pre-visit Teacher's Notes will be sent with the confirmation of your booking. They will provide further details of the programme and ideas for preparatory and follow up work to the module. We will provide additional resources and worksheets for the fieldwork during the module.
Duration
Most modules are a full day (6 hours) or half day (2 hours 30 mins) in length. Full day modules usually start at 10.00 and half-day modules at 10.00 or 13.30. An Introductory Talk lasts for one hour. We can be flexible on start times, however timing is critical! If the group is late we will try to fulfil the programme, but we do reserve the right to curtail the module or to cancel due to other commitments.
Transport
Groups will need their own transport to get them to the fieldwork sites.
Liaison prior to your visit
Your tutor will contact you before your visit to discuss the needs of your group. Your tutor will then be able to adjust the structure and content of the module to meet your specific requirements. Group preparation is vital to successful fieldwork and this prior contact is essential to the delivery of the module.
What should the children bring?
Groups need to be fully prepared for fieldwork in the Lake District. They must bring:
- Waterproofs - although we can help out with these. Please let us know.
- Strong footwear
- Warm clothing
- Medication or inhalers
