General Development Policies Development Plan Document
This document is an important element of our Local Development Framework. It will include a limited number of detailed policies to provide guidance on the acceptability and/or requirements of specific types of proposed development. We intend to provide policies only where they are not adequately addressed elsewhere within the LDF, for example the Core Strategy, or in regional or national planning requirements.
What has happened
The Issues and Options Consultation has now closed. Thank you to everyone who submitted comments. We are currently assessing these comments and a consultation report of what you said will be available shortly.

LDF - General Development Policies Issues and Options Report for Consultation (opens Document Library)
This report sets out the issues which we have identified as requiring additional planning policies. We also set out the options for the approaches that could be taken to address these issues.

Next steps
Following the Issues and Options consultation we will assess all responses received and produce a report to outline all findings.
We will then produce a Preferred Options report, and we will consult you again on this. This is anticipated to be in late 2010. A final version of the DPD will then be submitted to the Secretary of State for examination. We hope to be able to adopt both DPDs in May 2012.
