Afternoon tea for 'special' visitors

Published on: 06 Jul 2010

Accommodation providers in Windermere, Ambleside and surrounding area are being invited to the National Park Visitor Centre at Brockhole next week for a “day out” and afternoon tea to help the millions of visitors to the Lake District.

With the peak school holiday season beginning Brockhole is giving the accommodation sector, local hoteliers, B&B providers, caravan and campsite owners and those running self-catering  properties, a special glimpse into all that happens at Brockhole on 14 July, so they in turn can pass on the information to their guests.

“Local knowledge and recommendation is the best form of promotion we can possibly get, so it’s important that hoteliers and B&B providers are fully aware of all the exciting changes taking shape at Brockhole. And it’s also vital that we continue to build excellent working relationships” said Adam Thomas, LDNP Brockhole Development Director.

“Visitors rely and trust the advice of their holiday providers and will often ask them for ideas of what to do during their stay in the Lake District. Everything is changing so fast at Brockhole we thought now was the right time to update the accommodation providers, so they in turn can ensure their customers get the absolutely latest picture of all there is to do at Brockhole,” he added.

In addition to being briefed about long terms plans for the centre - including a project to bring more visitors into the lakeshore centre by boat via a new jetty – the accommodation providers will get the chance to see the return of “an old friend” and the arrival of an exciting new attraction.

In the adventure playground a favourite wooden boat is back after a three-month repair, while behind the centre shop a new “have-a-go” traversing climbing wall has been installed for people wanting to experience the thrill of climbing for the first time.
