Sights and 'sounds' of summer

Summer events for the busy month of July get off on the right note this coming Sunday (4 July) with the first of a season of free outdoor concerts at the Lake District National Park Visitor Centre on the shores of Windermere.

In complete contrast the Brockhole Centre, famous for its stunning award-winning gardens, will also host a gathering of Vintage Rover cars.

Kicking off the new season of Summer Sundays at Brockhole is the Nottingham Music School Orchestra. This 55 piece band made up of young musicians from Nottingham will be playing a variety of favourite musical pieces during the afternoon, at 1pm. and 3pm.

“This is going to be a great day at Brockhole for all the family and we hope that every Sunday from now until the end of the summer will offer everyone a taste of the Lake District” said Adam Thomas, Brockhole Development Director.

Other highlights of the month are unique opportunities to enjoy the lakes of Ullswater and Windermere on cruises with informed commentary from a national park ranger. Ullswater cruises are on 6 and 20 July, while Windermere events takes place on 14, 21, and 28 July.
