Car parks

Why not help the environment and have a carefree day out by leaving the car behind? Many of the Lake District's best loved places are easily explored by bus, boat, bike or boot. Our Getting around page has loads more information.

Our car parks

We run car parks around the National Park in Buttermere, Coniston Water, Grasmere, Hawkshead, Langdale, Ullswater and Windermere, as do the National Trust and local councils. There are also free smaller car parks in more remote areas.

Please park responsibly, within marked bays if they exist, keeping away from verges and leaving enough room for manoeuvre.

Disabled users spaces

All car parks have disabled user spaces - please display your blue badge. Our charges apply to all vehicles, including blue badge holders

No change? No problem!

You can pay using your mobile phone in all our car parks. The only exceptions are Langdale and Buttermere, because of the lack of mobile signal.

You can pay by credit card at Coniston Village car park, Hawkshead, Waterhead, and all our Grasmere and Ullswater car parks.

Pay and display prices

Payable every day 8am - 8pm including Bank Holidays

Mixed stay: Buttermere
