Leasing White house

The Dan Gibson designed house at Brockhole is currently used as a visitor centre for the Lake District National Park Authority. It is a great place to eat, shop and play and find out more about the Lake District.

The visitor centre contains:

  • A café with a terrace overlooking the lake
  • A shop and an exhibition space, with a temporary exhibition by Windermere Jetty (link to exhibition page)
  • An indoor soft play Play and Learn area for children

Future opportunities

The house at Brockhole has great potential. It is situated on the main road between the tourist honeypots of Windermere and Ambleside, has lakeside access including a new jetty, ample parking and is set in an amazingly beautiful area with views of the hills.

We are currently exploring possible alternative uses for the White House.
