During 2011 we constructed a jetty on Windermere capable of landing the big ‘steamers’ operated by Windermere Lake Cruises. The innovative Seaflex mooring system meant the jetty was constructed with minimal impact on the environmentally sensitive lake bed. It also makes the jetty much more accessible for people in wheelchairs and families with pushchairs.
The whole project was made possible with funding from the Rural Development Programme for England.

Paying passengers first used the pier from 23 July 2011.
In November 2012 The Landscape Institute awarded the Brockhole Jetty landside works the prize for best design of a building under one hectare.

Lakeland Marine Construction (LMC) is a civil engineering company and contractor that specialises in the building of jetty, slipways and boathouses and all other marine and water based civil engineering. LMC operates specialist plant and floating pontoons to enable efficient completion of projects. The company directors are chartered civil engineers and carry out design and build of projects.
