Queen's visit July 2013

The Queen comes to the Lake District

On Wednesday 17 July 2013 Her Majesty The Queen, accompanied by HRH The Princess Royal, came to the National Park. She:

  • took a cruise on Windermere on The Teal, which the Queen last did in 1956
  • visited Brockhole - The Lake District Visitor Centre.
  • visited Kendal and local businesses

Who did she meet?

As well as senior management, The Queen met five Young Rangers, who volunteer in the National Park. She also met staff from the Brockhole shop and cafe.
