Wasdale Valley Planning

Visitor management issues prompted the community, landowners, stakeholders and the Lake District National Park Authority to start a project in 2010 to address these concerns.

A Whole Valley Planning group commissioned a Visitor Management Plan in 2012. This sets out a series of positive actions including:

  • more sustainable and appropriate management of Three Peaks challenge participants
  • development of new car parks, toilets and other facilities
  • development of a Wasdale website and 'code of conduct'
  • development of new education and interpretation.
