Supporting Events and Festivals

Special activities for a special place

Every year, we organise our own activities and support a range of other events or festivals to help promote what is special about the Lake District National Park.

Our own activities

Our own activities range from hundreds of guided walks led by volunteers and experts - check out our Events section. We've also ‘have a go at adventure’ taster sessions at Brockhole - The Lake District Visitor Centre (opens in new window).

Other Events and Festivals

We help to make things happen

We work with other organisations to help their events and festivals take place and provide greater opportunity for learning about the National Park. And all these events and festivals help to support the local economy. We provide financial support, specialist expertise in event planning, safety or sustainable transport solutions.

This year we are supporting events under the following three themes:

  1. Arts and culture - Lakes Alive (opens in new window)
  2. Specialist sports - Fred Whitton Challenge, the 112 mile road cycling sportive event, and the Great North Swim (opens in new window) on Windermere
  3. Recreation and interest - Keswick Mountain Festival (opens in new window), Ullswater Outdoor Festival (opens in new window) and Kendal Mountain Festival (opens in new window)

And for next year?
