Filming permissions

The beautiful scenery of the Lake District appears in countless films and TV series. Take a look at Films in the Lake District.

Filming permissions in the Lake District

You can film on public land which includes public highways. However if you would like to film on private land, you need to ask the permission of the landowner. Ordnance Survey maps show the ownership of land by the National Trust and ourselves with symbols in the middle of areas marked with a purple boundary.
