Member of Kendal Town Council - elected Mayor for the year 2011-2012 and South Lakeland District Council, representing the Kendal Parks Ward. Currently Chair of SLDC's Resources and Partnership's Overview and Scrutiny Committee. A member of Standards Committee and the Audit Committee. Previously, a member of SLDC's Planning Committee and Chairman of the Council 2008-2010.
Educated at Kendal Grammar School and Lakes School, Windermere, then Bradford University (BSc Applied Biology). Professional Memberships include Association of Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrators, Membership of the Institute of Management Services and the Magistrates Association.
Corporate experience includes Business Development and Project Management roles with Provincial Insurance and AXA. Currently working as Managing Director of Manna House, a locally based charity working with homeless and vulnerable adults.
Married with 3 daughters, interests include enjoyment of outdoor activities, Christian and community involvement and cooking.
