As National Parks Week beckons the Lake District is ready to showcase its star quality with ten top hits for things to do.
Running from 28 July to 3 August, this celebration of the country's spectacular landscapes sees 15 national parks sharing some of their best places.
Lake District events co-ordinator, Andrea Hills, said the designated week was the perfect opportunity for a special summer splash.
She explained: "Every day we've got fantastic activities on offer, ranging from rafting to cycling, history to estuary escapades and great adventures like wild swimming, walking and map quests for kids.
"Many of the events are free and we want people to roll up and enjoy this breathtakingly beautiful place and all it has to offer.
"Alongside the top ten things to do, is a fantastic 'have a go' selection, many based at Brockhole, our lovely visitor centre on the shores of Windermere. All the activities are listed online and we urge visitors and residents to find out more and come on down to join us."
