The Lake District National Park is on a quest to find the best ice cream sellers to refresh some of its 15 million annual visitors.
Whilst the current weather may not conjure up images of 99s and raspberry ripples, it is the perfect time for ice cream retailers to tender for the 12-month opportunity, which closes at the end of January.
The tender takes in 10 locations from Thirlmere to Coniston - not only are they some of the most beautiful spots, but also some of the busiest tourist hubs in the area.
Liz Moss, head of commercial services for the Lake District National Park, said:
"This is a fantastic opportunity for local businesses to showcase their ice cream at some of the most popular locations in the National Park. We are especially keen to hear from those that can demonstrate quality and support for the local economy."
The tenders have to be completed by 30 January 2015, more information can be found at the tender website The Chest: https://www.the-chest.org.uk
